[/size]Customs
Each side shares simalar customs, such as the duties of ranks and how others attain those ranks. There are also differences in the ways of the lives of the two sides, and they shall all be explained here.
Simalarities:
Each side holds a Leader, a Deputy, and a Medicine Cat. Leaders' names are suffixed with "star", and they lead the Clan, telling it how and when to act, what should be done and when, and promoting cats to higher ranks. He is also in charge of destributing punishment. Deputies are the right-hands to the Leaders, giving cats orders and deciding when and where to patrol and how many cats to send. They also enforce the leader's demands and have an influence on their decisions. Both of the cats in these positions have to be good, strong fighters, have had at least one apprentice, and be a brave and loyal cat. Medicine Cats are the main healers, healing cats, serving as messengers, and speaking to the sky. They help the Leader decide important deicisions based on the clan--the medicine cat always knows the cats the best: who is hurt by what the easiest, or isn't hurt at all, what personalities are good for a task, who can or can't take pain well. They can also heal all kinds of wounds and sicknessess, and train apprentices and Nurses to be full Healers.
Below the three highest positions are Lieutenants and Healers. These are the two highest ranks in both paths for cats to take. Lieutenants are strong and brave, and are eligible to be appointed deputy if the current deputy dies or becomes Leader. Lieutenants are the strongest and most senior Warriors, and can assign tasks to those ranks below them. Healers are the highest position of Meidcine Cat without being a Medicine Cat, and are eligible to become the Meidcine Cat when the curent one dies. They are skilled healers, and can interpret messages from anscestors.
After that are Nurses, Capitans, Commanders, and Warriors. Nurses are below Healers, and can heal wounds and sicknesses. Capitans and Commanders are below Lieutenants, and their job is to train apprentices. Commanders also have the task of Guarding the Camp. Warriors are the lowest position, but they are still honored, since few ever rise to a higher rank. They are hunters, fighters, and helpers throughout the camp and the territory.
Apprentices and Kits and Elders are last. Apprentices choose a path, either in Healing or Fighting, and are assigned a mentor, so that they may learn what it needed. Apprentices are over 6 Moons old. Kits are newborns under 6 Moons old, and live in the nursery. Elders are cats who have served their time as a warrior or Healer, and are retired.
Each side also shares how their base is set up. They both have Healers' Dens, Warriors' Dens, Apprentices' Dens, a Nursery, and an Elders' Den.
Differences
Confederation
The Confederations' Base is in a large Castle on top of a mountain, and the entire force is located there. Dens are set in rooms, where there is more than enough space to hold everyone.
Their fighting style is unique in a way that they like to attack from above. They train in wet areas, as well as the high tiers of the castle. Mostly, they will attack by scaling a tree or going on top of rock, and springing down on an opponent from above, attempting to break their spine or their neck in the process. They are not good at handling being leaped on top of, or being belly-up. They also hunt in this manner, and have the ability to catch all kinds of birds. But they're better at fighting.
Prey is gathered by apprentices, herbs are gathered by Nurses. Warriors and Capitans take care of border patrols, where Commanders defend the base. Lieutenants guard the Leader and assign tasks to Warriors. Healers go around to dens and examine each cat, and the Medicine Cat stays in the den, organizing herbs or looking after sick or injured cats.
Cats of the Confederation are very harsh--they are thought of as cruel and tough because of their leader.
Rebellion
The Rebellion's base is a clearing, and their dens are bushes--thus space is limited and very squishy. Their cats are relatively small for this reason.
Their fighting style is more of a stealthy creep, due to have originally been fighting in secret. They sneak up on opponents, keeping low and silent and under cover, where when they think their opponent will least expect it, they spring, landing on top of their enemy or sliding right under them and either scratching their belly or knocking their paws out from beneath them and breaking their limbs. They are better hunters than fighters, thus they are a bit slower due to usually being well-fed. They have the ability to fish.
Prey is gathered by Apprentices, Warriors, and Capitans. Commanders guard the base, and Lieutentants partol the territory. All ranks of the Medicine Path gather herbs, where Nurses attend to the Elder's discomforts, Healers attend to apprentices, warriors, and Capitans, and the Medicine Cat deals with everyone.
More may be added in the Future.
